     The Christmas and Holiday Seasons can bring a welcome relief to the busy lifestyle we all live.
     There is something about walking downtown, breathing the crisp, cold air, and looking at the colorful lights dancing on the lamp posts, businesses, and even the trees in Millenium Park.
     Window shop, grab a cup of coffee, eat a meal, find that special gift, or just having the freedom to walk about, freedoms we can be thankful for.
     I guess all the lights are like a winter rainbow that we can follow to true riches. For although Lake Oswego and many of its citizens are financially fortunate, it is the value of our family and friends that help us navigate life’s struggles and help us keep a proper perspective.

In school or out for some time now, here is a simple test for you:

1. If the Lake Oswego Public Library ranked in the top 10 in the state for the 2009 Hennen’s American Public Library Ratings in similar population category, but was not 2-10, with a 99% HAPPLR sum, they ranked # ?

Questions 2-7 do not exist.

8. Nationwide, for similar population category, only 7 libraries ranked higher. Therefore Lake Oswego was ranked # ?

9. When was the last time you stopped by Oregon’s #1 and the Nationwide’s #8 public library for similar population category?

The birds may serenade you as you come off “A” Avenue onto First St toward the Mellinnium Plaza Park and along side the Lake View Village retail stores which opened in November of 2003.

On your right you will see Francisco Salgado’s yellow colored “Jump” (sponsored by Pacific West Bank into 2010) which is a part of Lake Oswego’s “Gallery Without Walls” sponsored by the Arts Council of Lake Oswego.
